ENGLISH 4 - POST 1

This is a rather complicated matter for me. The truth is that I have never been moved by the idea of ​​traveling to another country. I have always loved Chile with all my heart, but if I had to choose a country it would be Spain. A few years ago I had a friend who lived there. We got along very well, so one day I started looking for the price of the tickets and the best-known places in Spain with the illusion of going to see him one day. Among those places was the temple of the "Sagrada Familia" in Barcelona

Although I no longer speak with my friend (that made me very sad for quite some time), I still have the idea of ​​knowing these beautiful places. I hope that in the future I will be given the opportunity and can fulfill this fantasy of my adolescence.

My friend to the end.

When I was little I had a huge terror to that diabolical doll of the 80's, Chucky. When I was looking for something entertaining to watch on TV and casually they were giving that movie, then I could not sleep at night, and that was the reason why it took me so much to start sleeping in my room.

When I was growing up I felt that I had to overcome that fear. "It's just a doll, it does not exist." I started seeing the first, then the second, third ... I liked them a lot, and finally I saw them all.

A murderer named Charles Lee Ray is pursued by the police. He hides in a toy store, and when they finally find him, they shoot him and Charles makes a spell to transfer his soul to a doll. He needs to find a pure soul to whom he has told his secret to transfer his soul to a human again. In this search he commits many murders.
I really like that kind of horror-comedy, because Chucky is sometimes quite funny haha.
The creator of Chucky is Don Mancini. There are 7 movies so far, but among all these, I would say that the main character is Andy Barclay, the boy pursued by Chucky. My favorite actor is Chucky, he does it very well hahaha
My favorite scenes are always when people find out that Chucky is not just a doll and has a life of its own.

He will be my friend until the end.

My favorite subject

Although this semester has fared better than last semester, I could not choose a favorite subject, there is none that enjoy like last year. I had a subject called "Reading and Auditory Practice". Well, I still have that subject but with other teacher and it is not the same anymore. The previous teacher, Miguel, is the best teacher I've ever in my life. He has a way of teaching that is fascinating and you learn a lot. That subject was my favorite because he made it very didactic and entertaining. Also, he is a very good person. He is not the typical teacher who only cares to teach the subject and end. He also cared about our person, of talk about relevant topics and make the class was not only passing content.

I remember that we all sat it a circle in the classroom, and one by one we were recognizing intervals and metrics. It was very entertaining, we had a great time. He knows a lot, so we could be listening to him for hours. That was my favorite subject. 

I think that having a good teacher who knows how to teach is essential and satisfying. Even having a good teacher can make you love a subject you before hated.

Programs in my life

There are several useful programs in the sound area. One of those that we use at the university is "Pro tools", which is a multi-track audio recording, editing and mixing platform. This software is used worldwide.

It is a paid program, but it has a free version called "Ardour" which is quite popular.

For the musical area, we have software from the same company called "Sibelius", which is a sheet music editor. Is a very complete program to write, execute, print and publish musical scores. It's wonderful, you can put the instruments you want, you could create songs by yourself!

To program, we occupy a software called "Matlab". It's very useful because it has several features: numerical analysis, matrix calculation, signal processing, graphics, etc. You can do countless things with Matlab. You can create your own programs!

There are many more programs for the production area, even better than Pro Tools. Among them we have: Ableton live, Cubase, FL Studio, Logic Pro, GarageBand, etc... You see which one you choose, it's a matter of liking 😉

"That's a man thing"

Since I was little, I always wondered why babies were dressed in blue when they were boys and pink when they were girls. It is really stupid. That is, it is a color! There are many things like those ones that prevent us from moving forward. They make us go back. For example, when people say that girls should not use strong language, or when men should not cry, or even how they should sit down according to their genders!

When I was little, my family sometimes told me "Isidoro" instead of "Isidora" for stupid things. For example, they gave me barbies as Christmas presents, and I loved playing with them, but also with Max steel.

When I said I wanted to study sound engineering, my mother was happy because she knows that I like it. My father was not very convinced because it was a "men's career", but he finally realized that it was silly. Now he is very proud, because he also loves music and sound. 

To finish, I will tell something that happened to me yesterday. I was in a class called "Sound for Performing Arts" and the teacher made me speak into microphone to test sound. Then he saved that configuration for my voice and said: "Let's put a more effeminate color". What a nasty person.

A happy day

Last year, a friend of mine bought an audio interface on a cyber Monday. She was very happy.  When the day came she had to go to the mall to take it,  she asked us to accompany her. The truth is I did not want to because I don't like walking, but I finally agreed to do so (if I hadn't done it, I would have regretted). We started walking around the Lastarria neighborhood and when we went to the Gabriela Mistral cultural center, I see Manuel García getting out of a taxi in the Alameda. I could not believe what my eyes were seeing. I had my favorite artist seven meters from me. I did not hesitate  a second to speak to him. He knows me, I guess he has seen me too many times.

I  greeted him and he asked me what I was doing. I told him about the interface and he wished us to be excellent. He was going to see a friend who was throwing a book. I finally asked him if he could take a picture with him (my friend took it) and we said goodbye. I was happy. I love him so much. Obviously afterwards it was excellent with the audio interface, we were going with the blessing of Manuel hahaha😂

Technology

Before, I was a person who was not very techlogoly-friendly. I mean, even though I ocuppied it, I preferred the times before. Now, is part of my day to day, and I'm scared to assume that I would die without that (is a exagerattion). I remember, that my dad bought a computer when I was a child. I employ the PC since I was very young (more still😂).

 Now I also occupy it enough, but for me, the cell phone is much more useful. Is part of my life, I ocuppy it all day and everyday. I think that it is much more comfortable and portable(it fits in a pocket😍Well, most of the time). Also, it is more at hand, it takes less time to turn on, etc. Is a wonderful device. Without the cell phone, I would more social life, but I would take me longer to see and answer the emails, I could not access it so easily at the music that I listen and much things more...

 

The Sound

I never had many dreams when I was a child. I think the only that I ever thought about was being a veterinarian, but it was only because I liked animals. I never wanted to be someone in life😂.
 Then I saw what a group of veterinarians they had to do to a cow and I felt the desire was taker away.

Is for this reason that when I was in the fourth grade I did not still know what to study.
When I gave the psu for the first time, I entered at the Pedro de Valdivia pre-university. At the end of the year, my options were between geology and psychology. The true, I always liked the music, but I did not dare because I knew that remuneration was not good. Finally, I chose Sound engineering in the University of Chile, since I like to attend the musicians more that being one of them. My experience in the Univerisy has been good and bad. Socially, I'm very happy. The people are very loving, but academically I feel that I don't have a time for nothing.
In the future, I would like to dedicate myself to attend live sound at concerts. That makes me really happy.

Hello! My name is Isidora Mora and this is my blog💛 . I was born in Santiago, Chile, on July 29th, 1998. I'm only daughter👪 and I like, all the love is for me (haha, is joke).
I study Sound Engineering in the Arts Faculty at the de University of Chile. Until now, I like a lot. I hope to finish it😂. My secondary studies I made them at the Liceo Politécnico Andes Duoc Uc in the telecomunications area. The career I did not like it very much, but is a good high school and I had a lot of fun 💃💃.
I have a dog 🐶. His name is Niño. I picked him up from the street 11 years ago.  He is as a little brother. When I have free time, I like listening to music 🎧, sleep💤 and go to the concerts🎤.
